Open Burn

Agricultural and Open Burning is overseen by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) and the California Department of Forestry (CALFire). They set burn days and handle burn permits during the burn season. Below are the steps required to burn agricultural waste on your property.

  1. Fill out and submit the correct form & pay fees to BAAQMD - Click Here

  2. AFTER MAY 1 (or preliminary burn ban enforced)

    1. Complete CalFire Burn Permit​

      1. Residential - LE-62A - 4x4' piles ​

      2. Commercial - LE-5 

  3. Check Burn Status and determine if it is a permissive burn day. (May call 800-792-0787 for a 24hr recording)

  4. Email - burn@angwinfire.com or call - (707) 965-2468 and leave a message with the following:

    1. - Name


    2. - Address of Burn


    3. - Phone Number


    4. - Date/Time of Burn

DON'T FORGET

Make sure you comply with the following when you burn:


  • Adequate overhead and surrounding clearances


  • A water source on-site (i.e. - hose)


  • DO NOT BURN BEFORE 10 AM


  • Materials may not be added after 2 hours BEFORE sunset.


  • Pile must meet allowable "Pile Size Limit" & "Pile Size Volume."
